Cathodic Protection Activities
Applications:
- Off shore structures (platforms, single buoy moorings, sub-sea pipelines, ships, dry docks, sheet steel piling, locks, channels, terminals and jetties, pipelines)
- On shore structures:
- Pipelines
- Tanks & tank farm
- Well casing
- Refineries & petrochemical plants
- Power stations & desalination plants
- Steel in concrete
- Internal protection
Site Survey and Field Testing All measurements for both new and existing CP systems such as soil resistivity measurement, structure potential, bonding, electrical continuity, testing of isolating joints, stray current sources, AC mitigating, DC mitigating and power source availability.
Reporting & Conceptual Design According to the data collected from site, site survey and conceptual design reports can be prepared.
Installation Install all CP materials and equipment like anode ground beds, transformer rectifier units, stationary reference electrodes, cables and cable connections to the structure, test posts.
Commissioning After all installation works are completed, the setup and commissioning of CP system can be done by testing the potential of the structure through the test posts and insure that the structure is protected and the CP current is within the designed limits.
Maintenance For the existing CP systems after a few years of working some need to be upgrade according to the field testing and evaluation of CP system efficiency, this can be done by install new anode ground bed, new T/R unit, cables, RE, e
